History
The ancient history of the Falerio dei Colli Ascolani is already written in the name, typically Roman, the wine that comes from the ancient city of Faleria. The Falerio dei Colli Ascolani, remains a living testimony of the fame that, from the days of imperial Rome, have had the wines of the Picenum. The hills between Falerone and Fermo, where today stretch the vineyards of Falerio, have seen the baptism of arms of the famous Roman orator and philosopher Cicero who, at only 18 years, participated in the armies of Pompey Strabo at the lost battle of the Roman against the Piceno’s army. In the archives of the town of Fermo there have been found hints of Faleria wines dating from the XIIIth century.
